What EASTER meant to us as believers.

Happy Easter in arrears to you and yours. May the reasons for easter be more and more evident in our lives, homes and destinies in Jesus’ name.

John 19:30 KJV
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

First of all, the gospel is the message of God’s forgiveness (Luke 24:47). God’s forgiveness is superlative. You and I have received justification by faith through the blood of Jesus shed for us on the cross of Calvary. He primarily forgives the “sinner” and his “sins” are taken care of automatically. We were not sinners because we sin; we were sinners so we sinned because it is a nature. We are now totally forgiven and accepted in the Beloved! Hallelujah! No Christian is ever called in the bible a forgiven sinner. God calls us saints. We are not saints because we are saintly; We are saints, so we should walk saintly. His righteousness has been shared with is eternally. )Romans 6:18)
When Christ was hanging on the cross, he paid the penalty for “all” our sins – sins of the past, present and future. No more sacrifice is needed. He has paid it all, in arrears and in advance. Hallelujah!
Our sins are so remitted as if they were never committed. This is Total Justification in Christ by faith
Talking of salvation, it has three sides:
Salvation past is deliverance from the “penalty” of sin. This is Justification!
Salvation present is deliverance from the “power” of sin. This is Sanctification!
Salvation future is deliverance from the very “presence” of sin. This is Glorification.
The first one is a one time experience. The second is a process and the last is a crisis experience which will take place at a moment. We are already saved from the penalty of sin. We are being saved momentarily from the power is sin. But the removal of the presence of sin is still in the future. (Romans 8:16 & 18)
If we sin today, we have Christ advocating for us before the Father. But we are to walk in the light. We must walk in all openness and transparency before God, acknowledging our sinfulness and validating his righteousness over our sinfulness. The blood of the Lamb of God will “keep cleansing” us. Picture this, just like a perennial river running over the pebbles, we are perpetually under the cleansing stream of Emmanuel’s blood. (1 John 1:7, 2:1).
1 John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Our sins of omission are more in number than those of commission, so we can’t express righteousness by our own self will alone. Never can we afford a moment to be outside the Blood. Glory!
Brethren, this is the reason for the coming of Jesus. He came to set the captives free. Captives of sin and self, captives of satan and worldliness. We are free and free forever. He has restored us back into our original position in God, state of mind, Spirit and operation in God (Genesis 1:26-30)
Paul, in Ephesians 2:18 emphasized this thus:
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
The veil is no more blocking us from accessing our inheritance in Christ. We now have full access to our father. The throne room is no more a no go area.
In conclusion, Hebrews 4:14-16 KJV
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
May the Lord bless your understanding.
